Lockstep has no accounts. The app registers your phone with an anonymous token, and the agents you connect get their own tokens.
What stays on your phone
- Which apps you chose to block. Apple only gives the app opaque tokens for them, and they never leave the phone.
- How long you use any app. Lockstep does not upload usage.
What our server stores
- Whether your apps are locked, until when, and the reason your agent gave.
- A history of locks, unlocks and emergency unlocks.
- How many times the block screen appeared, grouped by a one-way hash of each app that can't be turned back into a name.
- The rules you asked your agent to save.
- Your time zone, the device name iOS reports (usually just "iPhone"), and a push notification token.
- The name and type of each agent you connect.
What your agent can see
Everything in the list above, except the push token. It cannot see which apps are blocked or how you use your phone. Your agent's own privacy policy covers what it does with that information.
Where it's stored
The server runs on Render and the database on Neon. We don't sell data, and there are no ads or third-party analytics in the app.
Deleting your data
Disconnect an agent from Settings in the app to revoke its access. To delete everything, email us and include the date you installed the app.
